Acting
Max Boppins (May 2022)
University of San Diego
In May 2022 I performed my character Max Boppins for Professor Evelyn Diaz Cruz’s Theatre & Community class. Max is like a mix of Mary Poppins and Jason Mraz. I invented Max to help educate people about non-binary gendered folx like myself. Max has two songs right now but I would like to write more. The first song is called “I Love That I’m Non-Binary” and the second song is called “Singular They is Fun to Say.”
Ode To My Mothers (June 2020)
Old Globe Arts Engagement in honor of Juneteenth
In honor of Juneteenth, the Old Globe commissioned a new play by Joy Yvonne Jones titled OdeTo My Mothers, which explored what it means to be Black in the United States, the centuries of struggle for liberty and equity, and the current Black Lives Matter movement.
Corona Diaries (March-June 2020)
Circle Circle dot dot
When we first went into lock down, Artistic Director Katie Harroff decided to bring CCdd out of hibernation for this new online series showcasing short plays written by our community all about living in the time of COVID-19.
Truth Tellers (Feb-March 2020)
Veronica Burgess Presents
I teamed up with Veronica Burgess and Andrew Steele to create the Truth Tellers! Telling real stories about real struggles in America today. A theatrical musical story-telling adventure with three teachers from Normal Town Junior High School. This terrific talented trio will dazzle and delight you with their musical musings and hilarious hi-jinks. Join Miss Simmons, Ms. Hobbs, and Mr. Fleming as they entertain and teach you about important social service organizations in San Diego.
Workshop Actor (2012-Present)
Old Globe Arts Engagement
Since 2012, I have regularly worked as an actor for the Old Globe Community Voices and CoLAB workshops bringing to life new characters in original short plays developed by members of our community—with support from the Old Globe.
Twainfest (August 2014-2018)
Write Out Loud
I’ve been hired several times to play the assistant to the snake oil salesman at Twainfest in Old Town San Diego. We would sell “the elixir of the muse,” vapors taken from all your favorite turn of the century authors including Mary Shelly, Edgar Allen Poe, and Mark Twain himself! Guaranteed to cure your artistic constipation!
Wrenegades (May-June 2015)
Circle Circle dot dot at the La Jolla Playhouse
In this eco-play written by Katie Harroff and Micheal Nieto, I played a large variety of characters including a Cactus Wren, a Gray Whale, a Torrey Pine, and multiple fairy shrimp!
Red Planet Respite (September 2014)
Circle Circle dot dot at the La Jolla Playhouse
This science-play about the future of Mars exploration was originally developed at Arizona State University during our 2014 residency. Katie Harroff wrote the piece in collaboration with scientists and students from ASU. I helped too especially when it came to writing the “programming” for my character Demos, the friendly and tragically unhelpful robot at the Mars resort.
